We offer these tools and resources to support monitoring and conservation of northeastern birds.

A virtual library of bird monitoring publications contains downloadable plans, technical reports, and peer-reviewed scientific papers.  This month's featured title is Opportunities for Improving Avian Monitoring (US NABCI Monitoring Subcommittee 2007). 

Bicknell's ThrushThe Avian Knowledge Network, is a centralized data management system featuring innovative tools for the display and analysis of bird monitoring results.  AKN offers partners free use of a persistent data archive, the opportunity to pool information among agencies and institutions, and the security of owner-specified access privileges. 

The Survey Design and Implementation Fund provides one-year grants ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 in support of efforts to strengthen and align bird monitoring in the Northeast.

Atlantic PuffinThe draft Register of Northeast Bird Monitoring Programs (MS Excel) catalogs basic information on over 400 monitoring initiatives in the region.  To submit additions or corrections, please contact the Coordinator.

State wildlife action plans identify management issues and Species of Greatest Conservation Need, providing justification and direction to bird monitoring activities in the Northeast.
